On Wednesday, November 27th, the SISTA, SMART and Medical Houses will host their annual Fall Food Festivals. At this event, all students and teachers from each House will be able to enjoy home-cooked meals representing the various cultures and tastes of our House members. Parents/guardians are encouraged to prepare a favorite dish large enough to feed a hungry group of students and teachers. Parents/guardians are invited to join us and enjoy the festivities as well. An “eating-time schedule” will be created shortly.
Below are the recommended essentials that are needed to make this event a success. Please select one or two items from the grade list below. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Jordan at 718.788.4482, ext. 148.
Breakdown by Grade
6th grade students – THE MEATS! chicken (fried, on the bone, off the bone, shredded, jerk, spicy, all kinds!), beef/steak, turkey, cooked ham, roast pork, spaghetti, lasagna, baked ziti, ravioli, meatballs, seafood, meatloaf, or any other family/cultural specialty, OR a $10 cash donation to Ms. Jordan (used to order food).
7th grade students – THE SIDES! food sides… such as macaroni and cheese, potato salad, rice, rice and MORE RICE, pasta, corn, peas, stuffing, beef patties, buffalo wings, mashed potatoes and gravy, empanadas, platanos, dumplings, salad, Italian bread, or any other family/cultural specialty OR a $10 cash donation to Ms. Jordan (used to order food).
8th grade students – THE NECESSITIES! paper plates, sodas, bottled waters, drinks, juice, plastic cups, plastic forks, plastic knives, plastic spoons, aluminum foil, desserts (that can be easily divided), more desserts, cookies, chips, cakes, more cakes, napkins, or any other family/cultural dessert specialty OR a $10 cash donation to Ms. Jordan (used to order food).
