Town Hall Rescheduled for September 9th

Dear Parents & Families,

Just when we thought we were going to see all the beautiful students, we have a delay on students beginning the
school year. As you may have already heard, the UFT and DOE reached an agreement to delay the reopening of
schools. On September 16th we will launch remote learning virtually for all students (both those signed up for blended
and fully remote learning). School buildings will start in person blended learning on September 21st.

Over the course of the past two weeks I have been working on preparing the building to open safely, and I’d like to
take this opportunity to let you know that we now have a full time nurse and an interim acting custodian, the exhaust
fans now meet the guidelines, and the HVAC system is fully operational. In the school building, all signage is up for
social distancing and programming for students is almost complete for both blended and fully remote.

In order to provide you with the most recent and up to date information as things are rapidly changing, we have
postponed our Family Town Hall that was scheduled for today September 3rd to September 9th – 6th grade will be at
4:00, 7th grade at 4:45, and 8th grade at 5:30. We will email out and post links on our website for you to be able to
virtually attend on Zoom. At this time, I will have an opportunity to go into detail about what a day in the life of a
student looks like in both the blended learning and fully remote settings.

Following the Town Hall we will also provide details about upcoming Tech Orientations that will support all students
and families in being able to login to our digital systems, and have access prior to Day 1 to our digital learning
platforms and safety procedures. We will digitally share orientation and safety forms to be filled out prior to the start of
school. Your cooperation with and attention to the safety procedures and forms is extremely important and
appreciated.

Thank you for your time, patience and understanding. I promise you each experience you have selected for your child
will be safe and well done. See you next Wednesday.

My very best always,
Ailene
