Every Tuesday afternoon, families can meet with their student’s teachers by scheduling an appointment with the teacher/s. You can use Skedula/IO or the teacher’s DOE emails to schedule an appointment. Parent Engagement time is 2:40-3:20.
We will be having special presentations on September 20th, from 5-7pm during which teacher teams will discuss curriculum and future special events.
As you may have heard, the D15 Diversity Plan advocates for more mechanisms for intra-district family, parent, student engagement and collaboration. MS 88 started this work this past spring. Here is a video documenting an intra-district + CBO (Gowanus Canal Conservancy) project from this past spring that showcases student-led collaborative problem-solving. Students from M.S. 88, M.S. 447 and Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies took on a design challenge with the Gowanus Canal Conservancy to develop green infrastructure design concepts for their school sheds, and then presented their proposals to a panel of NYC design and sustainability professionals.

Lots of smiles all year long. Congratulations, graduates!
On June 19th, our library hosted a special 7th Grade SMART House Poetry Slam organized by ELA teacher, Ms. Schildkraut. Poets read 3 original pieces and their peers listened attentively. A special thanks to our student emcee, Marquis, who warmly invited each poet to the stage. We’d also like to thank special guest, Ursula Koffer, for visiting and listening to our poems. Congratulations to all participants!
