In November 2018, in conjunction with their study of slavery and the Civil War, Class 825 toured the Brooklyn Historical Society’s Brooklyn Abolitionists exhibition and visited its ornate Othmer Library. The class examined primary source documents, including a map that is more than 100 years old. (M.S. 88 wasn’t on it because it had not yet been built!)
Classes 637 and 638 celebrated Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with Ms. Zacconi. Students explored the classroom ofrenda, ate pan de muerto, and even made related crafts. Students also decorated faces and participated in a bilingual read aloud. Check out the highlights of the day by watching the video below!
MS 88’s Running club ran a cross-country race at Van Cortland Park in Bronx, NY. A great race was had by all!
The overnight Senior Trip to Frost Valley YMCA is scheduled for January 15-16, 2019. There are very few seats left for this amazing experience. As of now, there are less than 25 seats remaining. If your child has already signed up for the trip or if you would like more information about it, a representative of Frost Valley YMCA will give a presentation in the auditorium during the evening session of Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place on Wednesday, November 28th. The evening session is from 5-8 PM.
