Dear Parents of Eighth Grade Students:
It’s hard to believe, but it’s time to say goodbye to our 8th graders as they graduate this June. The graduation ceremony for Middle School 88’s Class of 2023 is scheduled for Friday, June 23rd at 12:00 P.M., at the K280 site (former Bishop Ford HS Building), located at 500 19th Street Brooklyn, NY 11215. Students are expected to be at K280 at 11 A.M. in their cap and gown. Please be advised, there is no place to secure personal belongings. Students do not need to come to M.S. 88 the morning of graduation. They should report to the graduation site at 11 A.M.
*Due to the space constraints MS88 is providing TWO tickets per graduate.
Doors open at 11:30 A.M. Open seating. The ceremony will be live streamed. A link will be shared and emailed the morning of the ceremony. Please be advised that only street parking is available and can be challenging.
- Graduation cap and gowns will be distributed the week before the ceremony.
Eighth-grade graduation is a solemn rite of passage. As we honor the students who represent the best of M.S. 88, we would like to encourage a respectful and positive graduation experience for all participants.
Expectations for Students:
- Graduation is an opportunity for students to demonstrate maturity and pride in the significant accomplishments they have achieved over the years at M.S.88.
- We ask that you support the discussion we will have with the students regarding the importance of appropriate behavior during this very special event.
- We expect that students will be quiet during the ceremony, that they will applaud appropriately after all students have been recognized, and that they will not be on their cell phones.
- Students are not permitted to toss caps after the ceremony.
