A message from Principal Mitchell
We are organized and structured to respond to the needs of our early adolescent learners from an academic, emotional, and social perspective.
Each of our academies offer a weekly support program including: tutorial periods in all subject areas, portfolio work in performing arts, and opportunities to participate in creative writing in a variety of school publications with an invigorated focus on science and literacy.
Middle School 88 also offers enrichment in the arts, such as drama, music, dance, and fine arts; student newspaper; student government; basketball; as well as many other activities. Students indulge in a balanced program based on academic performance, need, and choice.
We have created an environment that allows all students to respect themselves and their abilities. Our aim is to give all students the necessary emotional and academic support to build their self-esteem by setting high expectations that will lead to a sense of personal responsibility. M.S. 88 is strategically aligned with major universities, along with public and private companies to support teacher development and enrich the learning experiences of our students.
