We look forward to seeing all of the Middle School 88 Knights on the first day of school, Thursday, September 4th, 2025! Please see our arrival and dismissal information below as well as a reminder about the Distraction Free Cell Phone Policy in place for all New York State Schools.
Our school day begins promptly at 8:20AM.
Our doors will open for students at 8:15AM.
Grade-specific entrances are as follows:
o 6th grade: Courtyard on 19th Street
o 7th grade: Exit “D” on 19th Street
o 8th grade: Exit “A” on 18th Street
Breakfast will be available beginning at 7:45AM through the courtyard entrance.
On the first day of school, teachers and staff will be stationed at each entrance to guide students to their first period class.
Our school day ends at 2:40PM. Students will dismiss using the same entrance where they arrived.
New York State ‘Distraction-Free Schools’ Policy
· No personal smart device use during school hours — Smartphones, smartwatches, and other internet-enabled devices are prohibited “bell to bell,” including class, lunch, hallways, and bathrooms.
· Only approved devices allowed — Basic cell phones must stay off and out of sight; school-issued devices are for instructional use only under staff supervision.
· Exceptions for specific needs — Device use permitted only for medical monitoring, IEP accommodations, or essential translation tools for English Language Learners.
